Dear Parents

As we come to the end of our year at HEET, we want to thank everyone for their involvement and especially those of you who have volunteered, helped and encouraged each other and made this a community to enjoy. We’ve tried our best to organise and provide activities and classes that would benefit our children and we hope they have felt that.

HEET will be undergoing some changes for the next academic year and we wanted to keep all of you informed as you make your plans.

Firstly, Due to a number of factors and circumstances – from next September HEET will be running on ONE day only and that will be on TUESDAYS. We have been working hard to get as many core classes for the GCSE classes as well as a range of interesting and fun KS3 and Under 10s classes and activities. We hope to have the timetable out by June/July and bookings open August but we can say for now that we will be offering the following classes:

IGCSE Chemistry (1 year)

IGCSE Physics (may be run over 2 years – tbc)

Foundation Biology and Chemistry (alternate weeks)

IGCSE/GCSE Maths (run 2 years)

IGCSE/GCSE Maths (1 year – exam sitting in 2019)

KS3 Maths

GCSE Classical Civilisation (2 years – exam sitting in 2020)

and hopefully IGCSE English (tbc)

Also

KS3 Geography

KS3 Science

KS3 Multisport

Also a variety of Under 10 classes

English, Science, Art, History/Geography and more

Secondly, We will be contacting you soon also with regards to changes that we will have to make in compliance with the new Data Protection Act that is coming into force at the end of May which may require either re-registration or for families to opt in/out of communications – the exact changes are still to be decided.

Finally, we want to thank all our tutors and especially the volunteer parents who have been teaching for all their efforts.

And we are really looking forward to moving on into our 3rd year as a community of home educators who are working and educating our children together – without the support and efforts of everyone involved this group would not run and we look forward to carrying on as a community.

Good luck to all our exam students!
