IMPORTANT TERM DATES

15th March 2017

Please note that our year at HEET will end in May, 22nd and 23rd May being our last two days, with the exception of a few GCSE revision classes that will run in June prior to their exams (separate email to follow).

The KS3 classes will run until the end of May as will ALL Under 10s Monday classes.

However all under 10s TUESDAY classes will NOT run after Easter as we will be ending our term with a bang and are hosting a series of event days on Tuesdays from April 25th – May 30th.

Details are being worked out.

April 25th

Exploring 3D Printing: – students will experience first-hand the thrill of this exciting new technology with hands-on experience and an introduction to 3D model making and printing using food safe PLA plastic. (KS1, KS2 and KS3 workshops)

Exploring Maths – innovative, interactive and interdisciplinary explorations in mathematical concepts using game play and design, art, and story-telling. The aim being to connect kids with math and develop confidence, problem solving and lateral-thinking (Ages5-8 and Ages 9-12)

May 2nd

History Squad Present… 3 fun-filled interactive workshop sessions throughout the day on The British Empire, Slavery and The Development of Medicine through Time (suitable for all ages)

May 9th

Bushcraft – whittling and fire making session (ages 6-14)

May 16th

First Aid Session (Basics, Bleeding and Bandaging) 2 hour workshops (separate workshops for KS1/2 and KS3)

Glass Fusing – an opportunity to learn the art of glass fusing – design and make your own (workshops for KS1,2 and 3)

May 22nd

Architecture Workshops – explore and build on a large-scale. KS3 (Bridges, Design and Math), KS2 (Build a Viking Longship) and KS1 (Explore Tetra Shapes)

The Detective Project: Forensic Science – They will learn all about chromatography, graphology, fibres, fingerprinting and DNA and how detectives use these techniques to solve crimes and then get to apply it to their very own crime scene investigation. (workshops for KS1,2 and 3)
